I’m a licensed psychotherapist with a particular interest in the ways our earliest relationships and experiences continue to shape how we understand ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world.
My approach is psychodynamic and relational, informed by attachment theory and psychoanalytic thinking. I see therapy as a collaborative process—one that makes room not only for what is difficult or painful, but also for curiosity about the patterns, meanings, and possibilities that may be less immediately visible.
My path to becoming a psychotherapist began with a longstanding interest in human development, relationships, and the inner life. Before entering the field of psychology, I was an educator, first teaching English and later working in Montessori education. Those experiences deepened my interest in how we become who we are—how our relationships, environments, and experiences shape us, and how we continue to develop throughout our lives.
That same curiosity continues to guide my work as a therapist. I’m interested not only in what brings someone to therapy, but in the fuller story of the person who arrives: the experiences that have shaped them, the ways they have learned to adapt, and the possibilities for greater freedom, connection, and a more fully lived life.
Over nearly two decades of clinical practice, my work has continued to deepen through advanced study in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and am a candidate in the four-year psychoanalytic training program at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy + Psychoanalysis (ICP+P) in Washington, DC. This intensive training deepens my study of contemporary psychoanalytic theory and practice, with particular attention to how our histories, patterns of relating, and inner worlds come alive in the therapeutic relationship. I have also completed training in Integrated Somatic Trauma Therapy through The Embody Lab, which informs my work with the psychological and bodily dimensions of trauma.
